¿Cómo se convierte en casa una casa? ¿cómo se hace hogar una casa? 
Esta casa es como un refugio de la ciudad aunque estando en la ciudad. Es un volumen refugio, un hogar que te acoge y al mismo tiempo se conecta con la naturaleza de su exterior. Tiene pequeños espacios refugio, cada punto del recorrido tiene un encuentro distinto, ya sea con las actividades del interior, como del exterior. Las ventanas enmarcan cada vista del paisaje que le rodea, y los vanos conectan con ese paisaje. A veces, el paisaje entra a la casa y se pierde la frontera entre el adentro y el afuera. La cocina es el centro del hogar, es el lugar de acción, de reunión de convivencia, es un espacio abierto, visible casi de todos lados, tanto afuera con dentro. Desde el jardín, uno conecta con la cocina y desde el barandal de segundo piso también conectas. EL último piso es el espacio de estudio, de independencia, de estudio, de meditación, de contemplación de las energías exteriores. Ahí encuentras el gimnasio, el estudio y la recámara principal. En esta historia el comedor y la sala no existen. En esta coreografía la casa se disfruta en familia, por las mañana o por las noches. Y el fin de semana. Son espacios para disfrutar, endonde la arquitectura y sobre todo el interiorismo convierten la casa en una casa.

El Pabellón Hemisferia es un espacio en donde todos los sentidos se activan de diferentes formas. 


Así como en el mundo árabe, tanto el pabellón como el jardín son espacios sublimes e inspiradores, que a través de la conexión con el entorno, generan percepciones corporales únicas. 


Es un espacio en donde las diferentes energías del mundo son recibidas y cada una cuenta una historia distinta. 


Los muros son protectores de la fuerza del sol y las ventanas dejan entrar esa luz de manera delicada y minuciosa. No mucha luz pero tampoco poca luz. Entre más luz entra al interior, más calor se percibe. Es una negociación constante entre luz y sombra. Las celosías ayudan a dejar pasar el viento que refresca y limita la energía solar. El agua, que recorre los jardines y las casas es la energía vinculadora de todos los espacios, trae vida a todo el sistema al hidratar los huertos y a la vez, de forma muy discreta, trae frescura a los espacios humanos. Cuando el calor del sol y el agua se juntan, el agua se evapora y reduce el calor de los espacios. 


Si al agua le agregas un toque de movimiento, podemos entrar en un estado de meditación profunda, de goce y de contemplación de las cosas que importan a nuestro alrededor. Cuando el agua llega al jardín, las plantas de llenan de vida. Las flores aparecen y con ellas todos los olores distintos. El recorrido del jardín es un ritual obligado, para contemplar las maravillas de la naturaleza que el ser humano ama y comprende. 


Los habitantes del desierto saben convivir con su entorno a través estos espacios de transición en donde todas las energías más que humanas se presentan, manteniendo un equilibrio constante de la vida para todos los seres. Aman la luz, el aire, el agua y la tierra. Se respetan mutuamente a través de la arquitectura. 


El Pabellón Hemisferia es es un espacio de ceremonias, de rituales, de luces, de colores y de sombras, como un homenaje a esos patios del mundo árabe que crean un refugio del fuerte desierto en el exterior.

In Casa T, watching your children grow up is one of the most precious times. The architecture itself becomes an empty stage, ready to receive the incredible adventures of growing children. Giving yourself the time and space to appreciate every moment of the day with them is priceless. The T house seeks to give value to every nook and cranny of the space to enjoy every second with the most beloved ones. It is a light and permeable house, which allows natural light to enter from all possible directions. Thus, every moment of the day is an absolute enjoyment that mixes family, activity, and the light of that specific moment. The permeability of the architecture allows us to be together, but independently, without getting in each other's way. The spaces are wide, without many walls, and each space has an internal connection with the others and a private space to the outside. This way the family can enjoy each other without being crowded. It is an honest and functional house, with natural materials and white canvases that emphasize the activities of life, without any ornament.&#38;nbsp;.

2022 Archdaily&#38;nbsp;Building of the Year nominee


Casa Tagle is a scenic game of life. Where everything is
transformed, nothing is permanent and adapts to the domestic changes of the day
to day life. Spaces are in constant use, every movement matters and nothing is
on display like a museum. 


It is not a house-museum, it is a house-spectacle. The
spectacle of domestic life. 


The pandemic, but most of all the quarantine has forced
us to rethink our domestic spaces. It forces us to find more personal spaces
and also more public spaces. A space of personal experiences, of private life, also,
without disturbing the other. And at the same time a public space of
coexistence, to enjoy the theater at home, a meal at home, a movie at home, and
of course, to continue with the work at home. 


The idea of the spectacle of life is further reinforced
by quarantined living. Houses must be able to adapt and transform to all uses.
To lose monotony, to continue to be surprised by life. 


The idea of Casa Tagle’s renovation is to respect the
architect's original idea as an open plan space, a diaphanous space, similar to
an empty stage, without any production. 


The architecture is present in a neutral, bare, unadorned
way. It only delimits the action zone, just like a stage. 


The furniture takes the power of the scenography and
reveals the transformation of domestic life. Just as every element present to
the performer-spectator's sight, the furniture in the house appears with an
imposed strength. It is made of a single materiality and exists provocatively
in the space. 


As in theater, no scenic element touches the limits, they
exist in their own diaphanous environment, walls do not exist, it is simple
capacity. 


Each element, each action and each movement matters on
stage, the rest is kept behind the scenes, in architecture, they are fixed and
invisible storages.


The architecture acquires a neutral, almost imperceptible
materiality, and spaces are transformed thanks to the backdrops and props.

That soil is archive, history, filter, creation, machine and support. And that architecture is a mediator.

Food in society’s memory has infinite nuances. 

This project aims at communicating the great ravages of this century’s agricultural crisis through a performance dinner. This crisis was initiated during the Green Revolution in the 1950’s, with the arrival of agro-chemicals, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), immense food empires and monocultures. It was a 360-degree turn in the ways farms and lands were managed which gave birth to today’s great loss of food sovereignty: countries’ loss of food security, loss of fertility in soils, farmers´ extreme poverty and forced migration, India’s 300 000 suicides, abandoned families, abandoned farms, loss of food, and seed diversity.

Following the inaugural dinner, an exhibition of the ingredients used, as well as articles, graphics and descriptions that demonstrate the great damage that this economy is doing to many systems of our modern world.

Chasing Milpa is a research project on the architecture of food sovereignty in Mexico City.

Maize is one of the main sources of nutrients for early settlements in the world. Domesticated 8700 years ago in Mesoamerica from its wild species: teosinte, it is the species with the highest source of nutrients in America, and is found in most Mexican dishes today. It is usually grown with two other companions, bean and squash; and together, they form the Milpa, or for indigenous cultures of North America, Three Sisters. This triad is a great example of mutualism between different living beings on this planet.&#38;nbsp; This project will look at the evolution of Milpa’s supply chain for the Mexico City area, from precolonial times, until today. It intends to expose the land they are grown in, the seed variety used, the type of agriculture employed, the cycles needed, the industrial process, the packaging, the storage, the transportation and the final process for consumption in order to reveal the main reasons for today’s urban food instability. It will speculate on an alternative relationship of care between human beings and food in urban environments such as Mexico City. As one of the primary intermediaries between human beings and nature, food is the key to reconnecting with a more-than-human world in this Anthropocentric environment. Caring about our food, means caring about all living organisms that populate this land in mutuality; accordingly, disconnection from the food that sustains us equals disconnection from the natural world we inhabit. Food Sovereignty, which encompasses the right to health, culture, ecology, sustainability and choices in our food systems, is a concept that rearticulates the lost bond between human beings and our environment; it reveals ways that help us rediscover the pleasure of eating and the love for the organisms that nourish us. This project speculates on new ways of caring about our multispecies world through the passion for food and its sources, and will ultimately engage on the true meaning of Food Sovereignty for a city of 25 million.

 This project looks at Xochimilco chinampas, in Mexico City, from a thermodynamic point of view. As the most efficient human made agricultural site in the Aztec Empire, these floating islands demonstrate how more-than-human interactions contribute to the equilibrium of the whole system, from starlight to chemical energy, from the cosmos to cyanobacterias. Chinampas design fed a city of 400,000 in the 14thcentury, proving that it is possible to live in mutuality in a multispecies world. Xochimilca people and the whole Mesoamerican cultures, looked at the energies of the sky to measure time and energy on Earth, because they understood that life on Earth exists through the dissipation of energy in different scales and in with various cycles.
